Ms. sara likkel
Ms. Sara Likkel’s lifelong dream has always been to be a teacher. She has been teaching preschool since 2020 and absolutely loves it. She is passionate about helping students develop important foundational social and emotional skills. Her goal is to create a learning environment where children feel safe and valued. She wants them to see themselves as a learner and friend because she knows that this carries into kindergarten and beyond. With a bachelor's degree in elementary education, a master's in trauma-informed instruction, and her preliminary teaching license she is well prepared to educate all the children that walk through her classroom doors. When she is not teaching you will likely find her spending time with her family, going on walks, and being crafty. She is so excited to join her students in learning and growing this year and every year!
Ms. Brett McCullough
Ms. Brett McCullough is passionate about seeing students thrive in an environment where everyone feels valued and cared for. Her experience has equipped her to ensure her students have a fantastic first experience at school. She owned and operated her own licensed and certified childcare center for 7 years. We have been fortunate enough to have her as part of the Oregon City Early Learning Center for over 5 years now. In addition to her teaching experience, she also co-founded and served on the board of a local foundation for the last 16 years, working closely with children and families that suffer from cancer where she was able to work with Child Life at Dornbecher, Make-a-Wish Foundation, and the Children’s Cancer Therapy Development Institute. She has an incredible knack for understanding the needs of children and putting classroom systems and practices into place to help every child be successful. She is looking forward to seeing how much her students grow in their love of learning.
Ms. Heidi Rumpca
Ms. Heidi Rumpca is a passionate educator that started her career teaching elementary school. She taught students in kindergarten up to fourth grade before transitioning to early childhood. Using her bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis on early childhood education, she is well-equipped to support all the learners in her classroom. Ms. Heidi Rumpca began her journey with Oregon City Early Learning Center in 2017. Ever since this time she has brought joy to the classroom, inspired student curiosity, and built supportive relationships with all those around her. She is an avid reader and lifelong learner as well as an outdoor enthusiast and mother of three. She loves watching her students make new discoveries and hopes that they leave her room knowing they are smart, kind, and a good friend. She can’t wait to see the ah-ha moments this coming year!

Ms. Mary Peck
Ms. Mary Peck believes she has one of the most important jobs. She gets to create an environment where children learn and enjoy coming to school every day. The learning that happens at this age is so important. She has been working in early childhood education for over 20 years. She loves taking classes to further her learning. Her interests include child development, early childhood psychology, inclusive education, and play-based learning. She works hard to build a classroom that also gives her students plenty of opportunities to move, explore with all their senses, interact, and engage in whole-body learning. You will find her being silly with her students, singing songs, dancing, and laughing. She looks forward to helping all of her students develop their peer relationships, solve problems, and grow their social-emotional learning skills. She finds joy in offering children a chance to explore and discover new things every day.
